Supported V1 use case
Music Migrator V1 is a local Windows desktop application for transferring supported private, unlisted, and public YouTube or YouTube Music playlists between two Google accounts.
V1 does not migrate a YouTube Music library, listening activity, subscriptions, followed artists, or liked tracks. It does not continuously synchronize accounts and does not delete remote playlists.
Why two Google connections are required
- SOURCE authorizes Google Data Portability to export supported playlist data.
- DESTINATION authorizes the YouTube Data API to inspect the destination safely, create playlists, add items, and perform read-only reconciliation when needed.
The accounts may be different. Music Migrator uses a verified stable destination account identifier to prevent a prepared migration from running against the wrong account.
Export and recovery
Google Data Portability may take time to prepare an archive and may not be available for every user or region. Keep Music Migrator open or return later to refresh the export status. Active and recoverable jobs remain local so work can continue after an application restart.
If an old SOURCE connection was authorized before the playlist-only scope update, Music Migrator may report that the connection is incompatible. Disconnect SOURCE locally and connect it again to authorize the current private, unlisted, and public playlist scope set. Music Migrator does not silently convert the older grant.
Review and migration
Review the prepared summary and blocked items before starting writes. The migration begins only after user confirmation. Supported writes create playlists and add items; they do not delete source or destination content.
Quota and deferred work
Google API quota and rate limits can delay work. A quota estimate is planning information supplied by the local application, not a guarantee of Google's remaining quota. A safely deferred operation can be explicitly resumed later. An ambiguous running operation is not replayed and must use the available reconciliation action.
Disconnect, reset, and erase
- Disconnect removes one local credential on this device. It does not revoke Google access.
- Reset Data Portability is a separate SOURCE action against Google and can make older archive jobs unavailable. Safety checks may block it while an archive is active or recoverable.
- Effacer mes données Music Migrator removes application-owned local credentials, databases, workspaces, jobs, observations, and history. It does not undo playlists already created on YouTube.
See the data deletion instructions for detailed effects and non-effects.
When contacting support
Describe the visible step, safe error code, and application version. Do not send OAuth tokens, authorization codes, signed archive URLs, client secrets, raw Google exports, migration databases, or screenshots containing private playlist data.
